Have you seen all of Ousmane Sembène’s classic films? Maybe you saw Le Camp de Thiaroye, which premiered at the first Cascade Festival of African Films in 1991. Are there other films you have seen at CFAF and want to see again or perhaps there are some you missed the first time around that you would still like to see? You are in luck. Over the past 22 years, CFAF has purchased more than 200 of the films shown at the festival and they are catalogued in the African Film Festival collection at the PCC Cascade Library. Visit our Filmography section to peruse the films from past festivals. You can also see if it is available in the library.

You do not have to be a PCC student to check out these titles. The PCC Library issues guest cards to residents of Multnomah and Washington counties. To get a guest card, all you need is a state-issued ID with a current address. For more information click here.

If you live outside these counties, you can either use your library’s Inter-library Loan service or you can visit the Cascade campus and watch the film in the library. Just note that copyright restrictions prohibit public screenings of these films.
